User testing
User test 1
- confused on text-based games, wasn’t sure where to click
- confused on “Click to scroll” mechanic
- Went the Future prediction path
- “What do you think WILL happen” instead of “What do you think MAY happen”
- Worst outcome: no struggle “Do you think it’s reasonable to think this?” is invalidating, need clarification on what the question is asking
- understood opposite overgeneralization from prompt
- maybe need clarification on what CBT is
- fix grammar, especially when it comes to examples
User test 2
- also having trouble with click to scroll
- Over generalization path
- “worst outcome”: talked about feelings rather than an actual event
- use different examples
- suggests to give definition of over—generalization or reframing in addition to examples
Changes based on user testing
When user tester talked about “worst outcome” of the situation, they described their feelings rather than potential scenarios that anxious thinkers would ruminate about. To fix this, I prompted the user to also answer the question “How would you feel if this happened?”
